My favorite water type also happens to be my favorite pokemon in general: Gyarados. He's just peak to me, good design, good stats, good shiny, can be used competitively, and to top it off Gyarados has been good for years. Even if not the best he's still good. You know you got a good Pokemon when you ask "but is this starter better than a Gyarados?".

You know... now that you've pointed it out. I have to wonder.... Do you think that, since Meganium is (unfortunately) pretty bad and desperately in need of _something_ to make it relevant, that fact might low-key make it one of the most likely starters we'll get in Legends ZA (where it would be easiest to give it a new form)? Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for the obvious mons that have references to the region and all, but you've kinda listed out a bunch of really good reasons which might make for it to be a pretty good candidate for the games grass starter (as they can both give it a new regional form AND a mega evolution, and potentially some new moves to help it set itself apart). I guess the real question is, what kind of dual-typing do you think would give it some kind of relevance?

Honestly I just feel like ScarVi and the direction the series is going in in terms of a gameplay perspective....is just not for me. I honestly don't really care that much for open world games in general, I find it to be kind of an overrated concept - it feels, to me, more like "running around in circles completely fucking lost because this world has zero locations with any personality" than "wowowowow exploring this world with so much life." The Area Zero plot was good but not NEARLY good enough to make me want to replay the...however long the rest of the game was because honestly I didn't care nearly as much for the Arven storyline as others did (I honestly wanted more Penny/Nemona if I'm being honest). Once I cleared it for the first time, I pretty much immediately shut off my switch and fired up my Emotional Support Game of Choice (Black/White)
